We Want to Hear Your Single: Introducing Starchild Featured Artists
By the Starchild Music team · October 7, 2026 · 4 min read

The short answer
Starchild is featuring the artists who sing the songs in our catalog. If you licensed a song on Starchild or Rocket Songs and recorded your version, send us your single. Selected artists get their single shared with the Starchild community, a feature on the Starchild homepage and, if they'd like, a short interview on our blog. It's free to apply.
Every song on Starchild starts with a songwriter. But a song only really comes alive when an artist steps up to the mic and makes it theirs. Over the years, thousands of artists have licensed songs from this catalog, first on Rocket Songs and now on Starchild, and recorded their own versions.
We want to hear them. And we want everyone else to hear them too.
So we're launching Starchild Featured Artists: a program to spotlight the singers behind the songs in our catalog. If you've recorded a song you licensed here, send us your single. We'll listen to every one, and we'll choose artists to feature.
What featured artists get
If your single is selected, here's what we'll do for it:
- We share your single with the Starchild community, including our newsletter, which reaches more than 10,000 artists and songwriters.
- A feature on the Starchild homepage: you, your single and the Starchild song you made your own, on the first page every visitor sees.
- A short interview, if you'd like one, about you, the song and how you recorded it, published here on the Starchild blog.
- Your story next to the songwriter's. Every featured single credits the writers who wrote the song, so listeners see the whole journey from page to performance.
Who can apply
Any artist who has recorded a song they licensed on Starchild, or on Rocket Songs before it became part of Starchild. Your Rocket licenses carried over with your account, so those recordings count too.
Your single can already be out on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube or anywhere else, or it can be about to release. Any genre, any production style. If you've changed the key, the tempo or the whole arrangement, even better: hearing how artists reimagine a song is the best part.
How to apply
It takes about two minutes. On the application page, tell us:
- Your name and the artist name you release under.
- Which Starchild song you recorded, and your single's title if it's different.
- A link to your single (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, SoundCloud or similar).
- A few sentences about you, why the song spoke to you and how you made it your own.
- Whether you'd be up for a short interview.
How we choose
We listen to every single that comes in. We're looking for recordings that make the song feel like it belongs to the artist, stories worth telling, and a range of artists and genres across the catalog. We'll feature artists on a rolling basis, and if your single is selected, we'll email you before anything goes live.
It's free to apply, and you can send another single any time you record a new one. The one rule: featured singles have to be recorded from a properly licensed song, so we can share them with confidence. If you're not sure your license covers a release, our guide to releasing a licensed song on streaming platforms walks through it.
Haven't recorded one yet?
Start with finding your song. Every song in the catalog can be heard in different production styles, in your key and at your tempo, before you license it, so you'll know it fits your voice before you spend a cent. Record it, release it, then come back and tell us about it.
We can't wait to hear what you made.
